MOTHER TONGUE LANGUAGES

Students keen to pursue the Higher Mother Tongue Languages, Tamil Literature and Hindi can do so in-house at CWSS. We are one of three Secondary schools in Singapore offering Tamil Language Elective Programme in Singapore. We are also a Higher Chinese Language Centre and conduct Higher Chinese Language lessons for students from other schools.

CWSS MTL Experience Programme

The CWSS MTL Experience Programme aims to promote cultural awareness and appreciation of our cultural root through a variety of platforms: cultural experiences, reading, creative writing, and our school’s effective communicator programme. Through the various platforms, the MTL Department supports all learners to develop their interests and talents in the languages.

Tamil Language Elective Programme (TLEP)

To nurture the love of Tamil Language and and Literature from young, the TLEP focuses on building a strong foundation for students’ appreciation of language and culture through the study of Tamil Literature at the secondary level. 

In this two-year programme, students will participate in a series of literary, enrichment and immersion activities, organised by MOE and by our school. These include local camps, overseas immersion trips, and school-based activities such as Meet-The-Author sessions and Literary Lectures.
